GUWAHATI : Prime Minister Modi’s 71st birthday is being celebrated across the country. The Assam government on Friday launched a massive vaccination drive aimed at vaccinating more than seven lakh people on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday. A health official said that by Thursday, 1.69 crore people in the state had been given the first dose and more than 39.71 lakh beneficiaries had been given both doses of vaccine. He said special attention will be paid to areas where immunization has been slow.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the vaccination camp organized by marwari conference and thanked the organisers for “strengthening our resolve against COVID-19”.In a congratulatory message to the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister said, “Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on your birthday, I wish you better health and service to the nation for many years. Assam has always been getting your affection. PM Modi’s birthday is being celebrated by a BJP worker in Assam.
The Assam BJP state president said the birthday will be celebrated for 20 days from September 17 to October 5. On the occasion of prime minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a four-year-old boy from Assam has appealed for justice in the murder of his father. The child, who lives in Kachar district of Assam, has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for justice. It has also demanded justice from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The child’s father died 4 years ago. Saidul Alom Laskar, father of the child, Rizwan Shahid Laskar, was murdered on December 26, 2016 in Silchar town of Cachar district of Assam. He was only three months old at the time. At that time, the Assam government was led by BJP Sarbananda Sonowal. The boy posted a video on Twitter and appealed to PM Modi, Amit Shah and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for justice. In this video he is seen holding a placard which reads ‘I Want Justice’. In this 45 second video, the child says, “My name is Rizwan Shahid Laskar. My father was brutally murdered by 11 miscreants on December 26, 2016, when I was 3 months old. Now, I request the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the hon. Thank you very much.
According to reports, Rizwan’s father was a contractor and was allegedly murdered by members of the sand mafia near his office. His widow Jannatul Firdausi Laskar had lodged a complaint with the Cachar district police accusing 11 persons of allegedly involvement in the murder of her husband. The Cachar police had registered a case under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. Jannatul Firdausi Laskar said she had used iron rods and other weapons to kill my husband. Police have arrested nine persons but two accused are yet to be arrested. He said that “the accused are still roaming near our house. We are completely vulnerable. We want justice.
