Adani Foundation at ACC Wadi restores water security for farmers in Kundanoor village through canal de-siltation

Karnataka,Bengaluru : ACC, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, is supporting farmers in Kundanoor village through a focused and sustained effort to restore and strengthen local water resources.

For years, the village had been grappling with acute water scarcity. Changing climate patterns and the overuse of groundwater had made irrigation increasingly difficult, affecting crop yields and farmer’s livelihood.

Recognising this, the ACC undertook the de-siltation of the village canal, deepening it up to two metres and clearing spiny bushes and waste from the stream banks. The surface was levelled to improve water flow. It helped restoring the canal’s ability to hold and carry water, gradually.

Adani Foundation has supported this work as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure. With the canal now rejuvenated, an additional 10,000 cubic metres of water storage capacity has been created, contributing to improved groundwater recharge and more dependable irrigation.

Today, over 150 farmers across 250 acres of farmland are experiencing the difference. With better access to water, farming has become more stable, and the land once again offers a sense of reassurance.

Through such impactful measures, ACC and the Adani Foundation continue to work closely with rural communities reaffirming their commitment to foster inclusive growth and sustainable agricultural development across India’s heartlands.
