New Delhi: All India Mahila Congress (AIMC) National President Ms Alka Lamba has written a letter to Hon. Smt Droupadi Murmu ji seeking time to meet and request implementation of he 33 % Women reservation bill in the Lok Sabha and various state assemblies in the country .
The “historic legislation” that will enable greater participation of women in the political process was passed in both houses of the Parliament last year .The Bill making one-third reservations for women in the Lok Sabha and the State .
“The ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ as a historic legislation that would further strengthen women’s empowerment and enhance their participation in the political process. The bill passed with a majority of the total House membership and by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the members present and voting.” Said Ms Alka Lamba , National President, All India Mahila Congress .
In this context, All India Mahila Congress is holding a ‘Nationwide Nari Nyay Andolan’ on Monday, 29th July 2024 at 11:00 am at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi demanding immediate implementation of “33% Women’s Reservation Bill” and also to raise the level of discourse on the Government’s insensitivity towards inflation and increasing atrocities against women across country.
