4baseCare, a leading precision oncology company, has partnered with Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, Chennai, to expand access to advanced genomic testing for cancer patients.
The collaboration brings together the Institute’s patient-centric cancer care ecosystem with 4baseCare’s expertise in comprehensive genomic profiling and precision oncology. It is focused on enabling patients to access advanced molecular testing closer to where they receive care, with accessibility and affordability at the centre of the initiative.
This marks 4baseCare’s first laboratory collaboration with a cancer centre in Chennai, further strengthening its growing network of collaborative laboratories and healthcare institutions across India.
Genomic profiling provides deeper insight into the molecular characteristics of a patient’s tumour, helping oncologists identify relevant genomic alterations that may inform treatment strategies, including targeted therapies and clinical trial opportunities where appropriate.

The collaboration was championed at the Institute by Dr Vijayalakshmi Ramshankar, Professor and Head, Department of Cancer Biology & Molecular Diagnostics, whose work in the field of molecular oncology was instrumental in bringing comprehensive genomic testing into the Institute’s laboratory and clinical practice.
