A home without a cow is like one without dear ones:  Shradhe Gopal Saraswatiji Didiji

Hyderabad: Cow is a universal mother, says Shradhe Gopal Saraswatiji Didiji, an IAS aspirant turned Gau Premi and Pracharak who has been travelling all over India creating awareness about the importance of India’s most sacred animal cow.

She was in the city in connection with Gau Kripa Katha, a five-day spiritual talk and storytelling, a rare collection of facts from our ancient scriptures about Gau Mata. You probably have never heard that much material with proof and evidence by and from our scriptures. These are designated as ‘Gau Kathas’ and are being decorated by her at Hare Krishna Golden Temple (Sankirtan Bhavan), Road No.12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.  The 29-year-old Sadhvi from Indore, Madhya Pradesh is on her maiden visit on a six-day tour to the city at the invitation of  Dhyan Foundation (DF), a volunteer spiritual and charitable NGO.  She visited a Gaushala being run by the Dhyaan Foundation for the past five years at Dhyan foundation at Peddashapur, Goluru Road, Shamshabad which is home to 3000+ rescued, abandoned, sick galvanises.

Interacting with the media at the Gaushala, she said India was home to 80 crore cows before Britishers invaded India.  Now the population of the gau vanish has come down to 9 crores. Similarly there used to be Gau Katha, an ancient tradition and culture of conserving the Holy Cow.  But that disappeared ever since the Britishers invaded India.
