A major accident at Guwahati Airport, a SpiceJet aircraft landed below the runway

Guwhathi: A SpiceJet Airlines plane slipped off the runway at Guwahati airport in Assam on Saturday evening. No casualty has been caused in the incident. However, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an enquiry into the matter. The victim was reported to have come to Guwahati from Bengaluru. The SG-960 number aircraft was landing on the runway at the popular Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport in Guwahati.

In the meantime, the crew lost control of the aircraft and the aircraft slipped off the runway. All passengers evacuated from officers and others who rushed to the spot after the incident was reported. Here, a spice jet (Bengaluru-Guwahati flight SG 960) went down from the runway while landing, but nobody was hurt. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has initiated investigation in the matter. The Directorate General has ground two spice pilots who were operating the SG 960 Bengaluru-Guwahati flight. After the incident was reported, the airport authority and DDCA have now ordered an enquiry into the matter. However, the administration has made it clear that the crew and passengers aboard the aircraft are completely safe. The investigation is being conducted into the cause of the incident.
