Barbeque Nation Unveils Chettinad Food Festival

Hyderabad: Barbeque Nation (www.barbequenation.com), India’s leading casual dining restaurant chain, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Chettinad Food Festival, a gastronomic journey into the heart of Tamil Nadu’s Chettinad region. Starting from 10th September, Barbeque Nation outlets across India will offer a specially curated menu that pays homage to the rich and vibrant culinary traditions of the Chettinad community.

The Chettinad region, located in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, is renowned for its unique and flavorful cuisine, which is deeply rooted in the culture and traditions of the Chettiar community. Known for its bold use of spices, the cuisine is celebrated for its complex flavors, distinctive aroma, and the perfect balance of heat and tanginess. The Chettinad community, historically known as traders and merchants, has passed down its culinary secrets through generations, making it one of the most sought-after cuisines in India.

The culinary journey begins with the tangy Nellikai Malli Rasam (Amla Rasam), a perfect blend of sour and spicy flavors. Vegetarian starters include the Tandoori Paal Katti Square, Podi Tossed Idli with Coconut Chutney, and spicy Paneer 65. For crunch, the Veg Kothu Parotta offers a mix of shredded parotta and vegetables. Non-vegetarian options feature the fiery Chicken 65 and the hearty Chicken Kothu Parotta with Egg. Fresh salads include the protein-rich Chickpea Sundal and Boiled Peanut Salad.

For the main course, one can enjoy Chettinad Veg Curry or Chettinad Chicken Curry, both served with Iddyapam. The meal would end with Mixed Fruit Paal Payasam, a traditional dessert made with milk, rice, and fruits.

Rahul Agrawal, CEO – Barbeque Nation, said, “”We are thrilled to bring the rich and flavorful cuisine of Chettinad to our patrons across the country. At Barbeque Nation, we constantly strive to offer unique and immersive dining experiences. The Chettinad Festival is a tribute to the culinary excellence of Tamil Nadu, and we believe our guests will enjoy the intricate flavors and heritage of this region.”
