Bengaluru: This monsoon season, Shiro Bangalore’s favourite Pan-Asian destination is turning up the heat with a high-energy Japanese Teppanyaki showcase, curated by Chef Priyank Singh Chouhan. Running all through the cozy rainy season, an immersive, reservation-only dining experience brings you a front-row seat to culinary theatre, complete with leaping flames and sizzling griddles daily starting at 12:00 PM.
For nearly two decades, Shiro has held a special place in the city’s dining narrative, often setting the benchmark for fine Pan-Asian cuisine long before modern Asian bars took over every neighborhood corner. Clack-clacking spatulas, sudden bursts of flame, and the immediate steam rising off searing cuts of meat breaks the usual wall between the kitchen and the dining room, letting you talk through your preferences directly with the cook while they work. The meal unfolds as a carefully paced sequence, beginning with soul-soothing bowls of miso soup and crisp, refreshing salads that set the tone.
Shiro’s teppanyaki turns dining into interactive theater, searing customizable combinations to order on a blazing iron grill. Diners can pair tenderloin, chicken breast, succulent prawns, or seasonal vegetables with sautéed greens, fragrant Japanese fried rice, or teppanyaki udon. Each plate is brought to life with signature house-made glazes, including rich soy garlic, aromatic miso sesame, punchy Thai red chilli, spicy Asian herbs, and earthy soy shiitake.
“Teppanyaki is more than a culinary technique, it is a celebration of theatre, performance, and the simple joy of sharing an extraordinary dining experience” Chef Priyank Singh Chouhan, Director – Culinary & Operations, JSM Corporation
Whether for date night or a warm gathering with friends, Shiro delivers an unforgettable meal cooked right before your eyes.
