Centre Approves Road Works worth Rs. 211 Crore for Tripura under PMGSY-IV

The Central Government has approved over 211 crore rupees towards the construction of 96 road works in Tripura, under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-IV, Batch-I for the Financial Year 2026-27. This covers a length of more than 160 kilometres of roads in the State.

The Ministry of Rural Development said that the approved projects will provide all-weather road connectivity to 96 habitations in the State for the first time. The Ministry noted that the enhanced connectivity will facilitate improved access to essential services such as schools, healthcare facilities and rural markets, thereby contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of people residing in these areas.

Till date, the Ministry has sanctioned a total of 1,594 road works covering 6,284 kilometres and 66 bridges in Tripura under PMGSY, involving an overall investment of 4,479 crore rupees.
