China favoured destination for Militants from North East

GUWAHATI : There are about 20 major rebel groups operating in different states of the Northeast. Four organizations are active in Assam, United Liberation Front of Assam, National Bodoland Front of Bodoland, Kamatapur Liberation Organization, Karbi Langri NC Hills Liberation Front -KNLF. The Garo National Liberation Army in Meghalaya remains active in the National Liberation Council. National Liberation Front of Tripura – NLFT, All Tripura Tiger Force activities in Tripura. The banned militant organization, ULFA (I), the United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent) and the more militant outfits of the North East, has made China its new destination.

 The Union Home Ministry has submitted an affidavit to the tribunal of Guwahati, according to which the organization has removed its hideout from Myanmar. According to official sources, ULFA (I) Chief Paresh Barua has built a new base in Ruili, southern China, bordering Myanmar.The militant organization’s operational base and training camp are in the Sagang sub-division of Myanmar. In a separate affidavit, the Assam government has stated that the camp was destroyed in January 2019 following the actions of the Myanmar army at the camp of these militants in Taka. Many cadres also left the organization. In Sagang sub-division, ULFA had prepared 8 operational camps with the help of Naga organization NSCN (Khaplang), the list of which has been submitted by the state government.A senior home ministry official said that China’s PLA military has supported and sheltered North East terrorist groups with weapons and ammunition. The rebellions have been warning the Indian Army for four decades.

The central government is recreating the activities of militant organizations operating in the Northeast.Especially after the implementation of the Citizenship Act, the movement in various parts of the country, including the Northeast, has sought details of the activities of several militant organizations from the governments of the northeast. . Sources said that intelligence agencies have received some information that militant groups in some areas are looking for a chance to raise their heads.According to a report by the Indian government’s intelligence agency, China’s PLA military has also given the northeast militant organization more space to live with more money, weapons and ammunition. China is doing all this to harass India. Currently, the Indian government has directed security agencies to carry out operations against terrorist organizations on international borders.
