Congress leader VD Satheesan to be sworn-in as Chief Minister of Keralam today

Congress leader VD Satheesan will be sworn in as Chief Minister of Keralam today. Keralam Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will administer him the oath of office and secrecy at a function in Thiruvananthapuram this morning. The Chief Minister-designate yesterday evening unveiled a 21-member UDF cabinet ahead of the swearing-in ceremony. The Congress-led UDF Ministry is being sworn in today in Keralam after a gap of ten years.

16 members of the new ministry, including Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan, are becoming ministers for the first time. UDF workers in large numbers have been arriving in the state capital since yesterday afternoon to witness the swearing-in ceremony. Senior leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, the Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana, outgoing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar, are expected to attend the ceremony.
