Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Arrives in Berlin, Receives Military Honours

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh who is on a three-day visit to Germany has reached Berlin this afternoon. In a social media post, Mr Singh shared that he was flown in a special German Airforce Aircraft and escorted by fighter jets during his flight from Munich to Berlin and accorded military honours on his arrival in Berlin. 

Earlier today, Mr Singh arrived in Munich, Germany. During the visit, he will hold bilateral talks with his German counterpart, Boris Pistorius and other senior leaders to further strengthen the strategic defence partnership between the two countries. A Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap and Implementing Arrangement for Cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Operations Training are likely to be signed in the presence of both Defence Ministers. The Defence Minister is also expected to interact with key representatives of the German defence industry, with a view to promoting joint development and co-production under the Make-in-India initiative. India and Germany share a strong and multifaceted strategic partnership, anchored in democratic values, the rule of law, and a shared commitment to a rule-based international order. Defence and security cooperation has emerged as an important pillar of this partnership in recent years.
