Pune : Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune, will host the 100th Annual General Body Meet of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) along with the National Conference of Vice Chancellors from April 28 to 30, 2026. This is a significant edition as 2026 marks the centenary year of AIU, one of the country’s leading apex bodies in higher education. The event is expected to bring together Vice Chancellors, academic leaders, policymakers and international delegates for discussions on the future of higher education in India.
The conference will be held under the theme “Shaping Self Reliant Bharat through Knowledge and Innovation”. Over the three days, discussions will focus on several important subjects, including internationalization in higher education, sustainability and social responsibility, entrepreneurship and startups, AI and quantum enabled institutions, healthcare and the integration of traditional wisdom into curriculum and research. These are areas that are increasingly shaping how institutions strengthen academic quality, research culture and future ready learning. The programme will also include the AIU Foundation Day Lecture, interactions with apex bodies and international delegates and discussions around the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025.
As the host institution, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune will be part of an important national academic platform at a time when the higher education sector is seeing significant change.
