Dr Harsh Vardhan, BS Yediyurappa digitally dedicated SSTC in Ballari to nation

New Delhi: The Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar have welcomed the inauguration of a Super Speciality Trauma Block at Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, VIMS in Bellary today by Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. 

Chief Minister has said that this will bring relief to the people in north Karnataka who had to come to Bengaluru for trauma care. He requested the Union Minister to permit construction of another Trauma care centre in Gulbarga.

The Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar has said that the trauma block inaugurated in Bellary today, will benefit people in the North West districts in the State. He informed the Union minister that the state will set up four new medical colleges by next year. 

The 200 bed trauma centre inaugurated today has 72 ICU beds, 20 ventilators, CT scan, digital x-ray facilities offering emergency, trauma care, neurosurgery and orthopaedic services. It was constructed at a cost of Rs 150 crore.
