These drugs are being smuggled in most African countries. He is also alleged to have joined politicians in the Dogs Mafia. Indian politicians are also accused of joining the international drug mafia gang. A senior IPS officer said that these mafia are involved in many criminal activities in India and internationally.Meanwhile, after the uproar across the country over illegal drug trafficking and the drugs mafia, the Union Home Ministry has to take appropriate steps against the drugs mafia and drug smuggling. Taking seriously the reports of smuggling of drugs from across the border, the Customs Department and its intelligence units have been instructed by the Union Home Minister to take action under the Anti Strict Drugs (NDPS) Act with more stringent provisions in all such cases. .A senior IPS officer said that illegal smuggling of drugs from neighboring countries Bangladesh, China and Myanmar is taking place from North East to entire India. A highly placed police officer told media persons that most of the drugs smuggled from Bangladesh, China and Myanmar are heroin, brown sugar and amphetamine pills, popularly known as “Yuba tablets”.The officer said, “There is no doubt that there has been an increase in illegal cross-border drug smuggling with Manipur and the North East and has become a favorable transit route to take them to other parts of the country and beyond.” The 398 km border is shared with Myanmar. The directive states that in the case of cross-border narcotics, the officers of the Customs Department also have the right to implement the Anti-Substance Act. An official has said that vigilance and strict smuggling will create fear.The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act-1985 provides for a minimum of 10 years to a maximum of 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and fines ranging from one lakh to two lakh rupees. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has issued instructions in this regard to all the department heads under it and two intelligence agencies, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI). The board functions under the Ministry of Finance.Earlier last month, these instructions were also given to the Chief Customs Commissioners and the Commissioners of Customs (Prevention) Department. The directive states, ‘I have been asked to state that Home Minister Amit Shah has directed that the sections of NDPA Act should also be applied in all cases of border narcotics caught by customs officials and the customs duty for them The officers are duly empowered.The official said that as per the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, now against the illegal drug smuggling and drug mafias, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs and Border Security Balbal jointly together with this drug and Will take action under the Psychiatric Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. We did an extensive search that evening and caught Xu’s driver. He reported having drugs at Xu’s residence. When we went back, Xu refused to search us.We finally searched his house and recovered drugs. The accused was the chairman of the 5th Autonomous District Council of Chandel district. He became the chairman on a Congress ticket in June 2015. He again became chairman in September 2015 and later joined BJP in April 2017.Brinda alleges that after this arrest a lot of pressure was put on him and his department to suppress the case. After that, a Manipur court directed police officer Thounaojam Brinda not to make any ‘baseless and defamatory’ statement against Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
