Ahmedabad: The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, has opened a new centre in Hyderabad, to strengthen entrepreneurship development across Telangana. Today, the centre was virtually inaugurated by Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII. This initiative is set to become a cornerstone in driving self-employment, innovations, startups and MSMEs in the state.
The centre will serve as EDII’s operational base in Telangana, enabling closer engagement with academic institutions, industry bodies, entrepreneurship support organisations and entrepreneurs across the state. The centre will propel Government’s initiatives through meaningful collaborations with the Industries Department.
Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, said, “Telangana has emerged as one of India’s most dynamic entrepreneurial states. Our aim is to work closely with local stakeholders to build a strong, inclusive entrepreneurship ecosystem, one that reaches all districts of Telangana, and creates opportunities for youth, women and aspiring entrepreneurs across the state.”
Under the aegis of its new centre, EDII will –
• Create an overall conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem through training across social segments.
• Support the growth of MSMEs and startups through skill development and business advisory services.
• Develop a cadre of trainers, faculty and mentors to deep-root entrepreneurship.
• Strengthen linkages with academic institutions to embed entrepreneurship in higher education.
• Promote inclusive entrepreneurship targeting women, youth and marginalised communities.
• Ensure convergence with Schemes and programmes of the Central and State Governments.
With Telangana’s established innovation infrastructure and a growing base of first-generation entrepreneurs, EDII sees significant scope for deepening its work in the state. The centre enables the Institute to respond more directly to local needs, delivering training, research, incubation support and enterprise development services closer to the ground.
