Failed online payments cost enterprises dearly. PaySprint’s new AI agent, PIX, now reroutes them in under 80 milliseconds, on a typed instruction

New Delhi : PaySprint Private Limited, one of India’s fastest growing B2B banking fintech and regtech infrastructure companies, today announced that PIX, the conversational AI agent built into its multi gateway payment platform SprintPGx, is live for all enterprise merchants, three months after the platform’s launch. With PIX, a business can now reroute payments, set routing rules and diagnose failed transactions by typing a plain language instruction, with no engineering team, no code and no vendor ticket. To coincide with the festive and year end sale season, PaySprint is waiving the SprintPGx orchestration platform fee for new enterprise merchants.

The problem peak season exposes

India’s digital payments are running at record scale. As per the Ministry of Finance, UPI alone processed 24,162 crore transactions in FY 2025 to 26, averaging 66 crore transactions a day in 2026, and now accounts for 84 per cent of the country’s digital payments. For an enterprise, that scale arrives in spikes: a flash sale, a festival weekend, a ticketing window. In PaySprint’s experience across its merchant base, online payment attempts can fail on a normal day, and the number rises during peaks when a single gateway slows, times out or starts declining a particular card or bank. Every one of those failures is a customer who meant to pay and could not.

SprintPGx was built to remove the dependence on one gateway. It sits between a merchant’s checkout and multiple connected payment gateways, including Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, PhonePe and Paytm PG, and routes each transaction in under 80 milliseconds to the gateway most likely to approve it, switching automatically if that gateway fails. What is new is who controls the routing.

Payment operations in plain language

Until now, changing how transactions were routed meant engineering time or a vendor request. PIX replaces that with a conversation. A merchant can type “send all transactions above Rs 10,000 on credit cards to whichever gateway has the highest success rate today” or “move all transactions to the lowest cost gateway after 11 pm” and PIX writes and applies the rule. If a transaction fails, PIX reads the error code and tells the merchant what went wrong and what to do about it. It also recommends the best performing gateway for each card and bank combination from live success rates, and flags when a gateway’s health is slipping before it becomes a failure.

The platform supports four routing modes, Priority, Load Balance and Advanced Routing powered by AI, and PIX can recommend which one a merchant should be on. Merchants on SprintPGx are seeing higher payment success rates and lower transaction costs through cost based routing.

“The festive season is when a payment stack is really tested, and it is also when a merchant can least afford to wait for an engineer to change a routing rule. With PIX we have taken the operator’s intent and made it the interface. You tell the platform what you want in a sentence and it does the rest. We are opening it to every enterprise this quarter, without a platform fee, because the cost of a failed payment during a sale is far higher than the cost of fixing it.”

Built for scale and compliance

SprintPGx has the capability to handle over 35,000 transactions per second and is certified under ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS. A unified dashboard brings transactions, settlements, refunds and reports from every connected gateway into one real time view, and automated reconciliation cuts finance teams’ reconciliation effort by up to three times.

The platform is designed for e commerce and D2C brands with high volume peaks, fintech and lending platforms, healthcare and insurance providers, EdTech and subscription businesses, event ticketing and travel platforms, and enterprise retail chains that need unified reconciliation across locations.

Festive quarter offer

As part of its festive season offer, PaySprint is extending a 0% platform fee benefit to eligible new merchants on qualifying sales of up to ₹15 lakh during the specified offer period.
