The government has approved the auction of 683 private FM Radio channels in 236 cities, some of them in remote areas.
Information and Broadcasting Minister stated this in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Answering a specific question, he said an FM Relay station at Godda in Jharkhand has been approved. The Minister said , a transmitter is being procured for this purpose.
