CHENNAI — To celebrate World Tourism Day, GRT Hotels & Resorts successfully hosted the inaugural edition of ‘The Great Indian Tourism Quiz 2026.’ Conceived to highlight India’s rich history, diverse regional heritage, cuisine and emerging travel destinations, the nationwide and international competition registered over 7,000 participants spanning 58 cities and 10 countries. The flagship event saw participation from thousands of virtual participants competing online in real-time.
Distinguished as one of the grandest tourism trivia initiatives in the country, the quiz was personally anchored by Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali, Dewan to the Prince of Arcot, who served as the Quiz Master. The event was organized in collaboration with India Tourism and partnered by leading trade and institutional partners: Tamil Nadu Tourism, ASSOCHAM, IATO, SICCI, SIHRA, SKÅL International India, and the Sustainable Development Council (in association with the United Nations)
Following competitive questions testing participants on Indian history, culinary traditions, wildlife, and regional architecture, top-performing teams were awarded luxury experiential stays across the signature GRT Hotels & Resorts portfolio and other exciting prizes.
