Highest single day surge of 7,908 new COVID cases recorded in Karnataka

In Karnataka, the highest single day surge of 7,908 new COVID patients were recorded during the last 24 hours taking the total to 2,11,108. Among the new cases  Bengaluru city reported 2,452 cases followed by Ballari with 608, Shivamogga 413 and Davangere 351.  

104 Corona infected patients lost their life and the total death toll increased to 3,717. A total number of 6,940 patients recovered and discharged from various hospitals in the State and the total number of recovered people have gone up to 1,28,182. 

During the last 24 hours the State has conducted 56,638 COVID tests in 100 labs and the total number of tests have gone up to 19,38,954. A total number of 79,201 infected patients are taking treatment in various hospitals in the State, among them 747 are in ICU. 

The State recovery rate stands at 59.92 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.76 per cent. 

Meanwhile, the State Medical Education Minister Dr. K.Sudhakar said that 2,000 PG Medical students will be available for COVID -19 duties within a week after their results are published in a couple of days.
