Idoru’s “HOUSE GUESTS”: First In – SOKA × TANSANE

Processed with VSCO with av4 preset

Mumbai: IDORU has always been interested in people with strong points of view, and what happens when different worlds meet in the same room. HOUSE GUESTS is built around that idea. A chef, restaurant, bartender, bar or DJ can come into IDORU and make the place their own for an evening. The combinations can change, but the idea stays the same: bring something worth discovering into the room. For the first edition on 18 September, in collaboration with Suntory Global Spirits, SOKA from Bengaluru takes over the cocktails, while Tansane takes care of the soundtrack.

SOKA is currently ranked No. 2 on 30 Best Bars in India and No. 18 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026. Founded by Chef Sombir Choudhary and Avinash Kapoli, the Bengaluru bar is known for its approach to flavour, technique and storytelling, with cocktails that take familiar ingredients and push them somewhere new.

Leading the bar programme is Krishnakumar, better known as KK, SOKA’s General Manager and Head Bartender. With 14 years behind the bar, KK brings a deep understanding of flavour and technique to the programme. For HOUSE GUESTS, he is bringing four signature SOKA cocktails for the evening: Upsidedown Pineapple, with Toki, smoky whiskey, pineapple, kokum, peppers and lemon berry dust; Death Wish, with Haku, peanut espresso, coffee liqueur, monk perfume and vegan foam; I Blame Jasmine, with Roku, Aperol and carbonated jasmine cordial; and Mysore Boy, with Maker’s Mark, sweet vermouth, cider honey, sandalwood and soda.

The menu reflects SOKA’s approach to cocktails: familiar starting points, unexpected turns and plenty of flavour.

On music, Tansane brings his own take on the room. The Mumbai-based DJ moves across House, Disco, Hip-Hop, R&B, Electronica, Indian Indie and Jazz, with a reputation for experimentation and an instinct for reading the crowd. His performances include Burning Man, Magnetic Fields Festival, VH1 Supersonic and Soho House Mumbai, alongside sets supporting artists including Chinese Man, Catching Flies, Bradley Zero and Netsky.

Music is central to the IDORU experience, and HOUSE GUESTS gives Tansane the freedom to shape the room for the evening.

SOKA brings the cocktails. Tansane brings the sound. IDORU brings them together.
