Idoru’s Monthly IP House Guests, Brings Different Perspectives Into The Same Room

Mumbai – At Idoru, curiosity has always been part of the experience. Its new monthly IP, House Guests, takes that idea further by bringing together two distinct voices from different worlds for a single evening. Chefs, bartenders, restaurants, bars, DJs and more interesting voices are invited into Idoru to make it their own for an evening. The idea is simple: bring people with strong points of view into the same room, and create an experience that is unique to Idoru.

Idoru is a cocktail bar built around cultivated curiosity, where drinks, food, sound, art, design and stories come together to create an experience that feels immersive without being overworked. Its cocktail programme is rooted in Japanese technique and precision, shaped through research and development in Tokyo with Koki-san, while the food draws from Japanese flavours and ingredients without being bound by tradition. The philosophy runs through the room: serious about craft but never solemn about it, precise without being precious, and knowledgeable without gatekeeping. At Idoru, depth and discovery are meant to coexist with warmth, conversation and a very good time.

The first edition of House Guests, held on 30th September, brought Soka from Bengaluru to Idoru in collaboration with Suntory Global Spirits. Ranked No. 2 on 30 Best Bars in India and No. 18 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026, Soka took over the cocktails for the evening, with Krishnakumar aka KK, its General Manager and Head Bartender, bringing four of the bar’s signature serves to Mumbai. Meanwhile Mumbai-based DJ Tansane shaped the soundtrack with his eclectic mix of House, Disco, Hip-Hop, R&B, Electronica and more.

For its second edition, House Guests shifted from cocktails to food, bringing together Chef Rahul Pereira Gomes, aka Chef Picu, and Chef Raffael Kably. Close friends and neighbours with a shared connection to Goa, the two chefs came together at Idoru to create an evening that reflected their friendship as much as their individual approaches to food and music. Goan flavours and ingredients formed the starting point for a collaborative menu, while the soundtrack was equally personal, with the chefs trading records across Hip-Hop, House, Disco, Funk, Rock ’n’ Roll and Indian sounds. The result was an evening where food, music and friendship became part of the same experience.

House Guests is a monthly IP at Idoru, with the next edition set to explore yet another unexpected crossover. In October, Idoru is looking to welcome Chef Varun of Comal, bringing the Mexican restaurant into the space for an evening that plays with the relationship between Comal’s Mexican sensibility and Idoru’s Japanese-inspired food programme. It is another combination built around the same idea that defines House Guests: bring different worlds into the same room and see what happens.
