India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and South Interior Karnataka today. The Met Department also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Marathwada.
Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected to prevail over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Uttar Pradesh. According to IMD, similar conditions are predicted over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Assam, Meghalaya, Coastal Karnataka, East Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal. Meanwhile, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana and Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh are also likely to witness thunderstorms along with lightning and gusty winds.
