Independence Day celebrated at Kokrajhar, Chirang

Kokrajhar: The 74th Independence Day was celebrated in Kokrajhar with strict observation of social distancing norms.

Assam social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma hoisted the national tricolor at Kokrajhar government Hgher Secondary and Multipurpose school ground.

The minister also inspects the guard of honour and salute the parade march by the security personnels .

In her speech, minister Brahma speak on the government steps taken for the welfare of the people in the time of Covid 19 crisis and flood situation in the state. She said the government is working for all round development of the people and the state with various schemes.She appeals all section of the people to maintain peace and harmony.

At Bodoland Territorial Council Secretariat, Principal Secretary BTC Siddharth Singh hoisted the national flag and homage to Statue of  Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma. The BTC principal secretary also carried out plantation around the BTC Secretariat campus.

The 74th Independence Day was celebrated in Chirang district amidst patriotic fervour

with Deputy Commissioner Gautam Talukdar unfurling the National Flag at District Parade Ground, Kajalgaon.

He inspected the parade contingents and took the salute from the impressive march past presented by the Chirang police and 5 Garhwal Rifles.

The celebration was completley dedicated to district’s corona warriors like doctors, paramedics, nurses, other health workers, police and security forces by the district administration.

To mark the occasion, a tree plantation drive was also conducted at district parade ground in a bid to promote clean and green environment in the district.

Bhabani Prasad Sarma, Secretary, BTC and other dignitaries including district health authorities were present on the occasion.
