India slams Pakistan at UNSC after Kashmir remarks: ‘Externalises internal failures through violence’

India has called out Pakistan’s long-tainted record of genocide at the United Nations Security Council. Speaking at the Annual UNSC Open Debate on ‘Protection of civilians in armed conflict’ yesterday, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni, said that Pakistan’s inhuman conduct reflects its attempts over decades to externalise internal failures through acts of violence within and beyond its border.

He further said, it is ironic that Pakistan, with its long-tainted record of genocidal acts, has chosen to refer to issues that are strictly internal to India.

He also said that the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) documented 750 civilian deaths and injuries in the first three months of 2026 due to cross-border armed violence carried out by Pakistani military forces, most of which resulted from airstrikes.

Mr Parvathaneni’s remarks came after Pakistan’s representative raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at the debate.
