Indian Cancer Society honoured with the ‘C Positive Award 2026 – NGO Impact Award’

Mumbai : Indian Cancer Society (ICS), India’s first voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to cancer control, has been conferred with the prestigious ‘C Positive Award 2026 – NGO Impact Award’ by the Rising India Research Foundation in association with the Texas School of Mental Health. The recognition acknowledges ICS’s sustained contribution to cancer awareness, early detection, patient support, rehabilitation, advocacy, and community outreach.

It was an honour for ICS to receive the award from Padma Shri Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar, former Head Scientist of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), an eminent epidemiologist, academician, and a key advisor during India’s COVID-19 response

“As Indian Cancer Society marks 75 years of service, this award reinforces its legacy of transforming countless lives through patient-centric programmes, preventive initiatives, and equitable access to cancer care. Guided by its Board of Trustees and supported by its volunteers, donors, partners, and healthcare professionals, ICS continues to advance its mission of reducing the burden of cancer across India,” said Mrs. Usha Thorat, Managing Trustee and Hon. Secretary, Indian Cancer Society.

This recognition reaffirms the impact of our collective efforts in awareness and prevention, early detection, treatment support, and rehabilitation. We remain committed to working with governments, institutions, communities, and supporters to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
