Jaishankar, Lavrov review preparations for PM Modi’s visit to Russia

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov today reviewed the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia next week. 

They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Talking to reporters at a joint press conference in Moscow, Mr Lavrov said that focus was on Prime Minister Modi’s talks with President Vladimir Putin and participation in the three-day Fifth Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok as chief guest. 

Mr Lavrov said, his talks with Dr. Jaishankar also focused on a number of specific issues, including the necessity to intensify work on the creation of an international transport corridor North-South in the Russia-India-Iran format.
