New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused that the Modi Government “murdering” Mother India in Manipur. Leading the discussion on the “INDIA” initiated no confidence motion in against the BJP-led NDA government in the Lok Sabha the Mr Gandhi said “‘One mom (Sonia Gandhi) sitting here, Bharat Mata killed in Manipur’. He was referring to the violence continuing without respite in the North Eastern boarder state. This was Rahul Gandhi’s first speech in the Lok Sabha after his reinstatement as an MP came on the second day of the no-confidence motion debate.
Rahul Gandhi accused the Government of dividing Manipur. He questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not visited Manipur so far. “”I am saying Manipur but the truth is there is nothing of Manipur left in Manipur. You have divided Manipur into two parts,” Rahul Gandhi said.
He also accused BJP of acting against the interest of the country. Mr. Rahul talked about his visit to a relief camp in Manipur saying women had to face atrocities during the violence in the State. He questioned why the Government is not deploying the Army in Manipur to restore normalcy. When Mr. Gandhi was speaking the House witnessed heated arguments between the Opposition and Treasury bench members and also slogans and counter slogans.
