Madhya Pradesh will be a model state in agriculture sector: Union Agriculture Minister Shri Tomar

            Today, in a high level meeting of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan with Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in Mantralaya, agriculture infrastructure and other subjects were discussed in detail. Senior officials of the Central and State Governments of the Ministry of Agriculture participated in it.

Union Minister Shri Tomar said that Madhya Pradesh is ahead of many states in the field of agriculture. He said that the works of agriculture sector in Madhya Pradesh are capable of bringing a change in the standard of living of all the farmers and bringing glory to the agriculture sector. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had launched an ambitious programme for agriculture infrastructure with an amount of one lakh crore. Under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, proposals worth Rs 10 thousand crore have been received from the states and out of this, proposals of Rs 5 thousand crore have been accepted by the banks. Madhya Pradesh has done maximum number of projects in this with the participation of Rs 1,000 crore, which is commendable.

MP leads the country in the use of Agro Infrastructure Fund

Shri Tomar said that the loan in maximum number of projects has been made available to Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the implementation of agri infrastructure. Madhya Pradesh is doing good work in Kisan Credit Card, PM Kisan Samman-Nidhi Yojana and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana. Madhya Pradesh is a pioneer in the work of upgradation of the standard of living of the farmers. Shri Tomar said that the Government of India is starting Digital Agriculture Mission. Through this mission, such activities will be done with the farmer in which the work of harvesting, sowing, crop insurance compensation, land area, transfer etc. will become transparent.

Madhya Pradesh will become a model state

Union Minister Shri Tomar said that he is confident that Madhya Pradesh will progress rapidly by working on mission mode for agricultural development and Madhya Pradesh will become a model state. Shri Tomar said that Kisan Mitra (farmer friends) should be trained in Madhya Pradesh. He said that along with the development of the app for Girdawari, this system should be used in such a way that the farmers may understand its usefulness. We shall try to increase the confidence of the farmer. Farmers should also take interest in this work. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that best model should be developed and adopted with the participation of Kisan Mitra.

Continuous efforts for expansion of agriculture infrastructure

 Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that today there was a detailed discussion on agriculture subjects with Union Minister Shri Tomar. Agri infra fund has been better utilised in Madhya Pradesh. An amount of Rs 600 crore has been released for different works of about Rs 1000 crore like starting cold storage chain, construction of warehouse etc. Farmers will benefit from these new infrastructural works. Today, the agriculture related schemes of the Central Government have also been reviewed. The innovations in the agriculture sector of Madhya Pradesh have also been discussed.

Supply of fertilisers and manure to farmers

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that discussion has also taken place regarding the availability of fertiliser. The Prime Minister and the Union Agriculture Minister have assured that the DAP will be available to the farmers at the rate of Rs 1,200 per bag. Even after increase in its rate to Rs 2400 per bag, there will be a system of giving DAP to the farmers at the old rate by increasing the subsidy. Farmers will get relief from the increased rate and uninterrupted supply of fertilisers, manure will be possible.

Request for purchase of additional moong

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that discussions have also taken place for the purchase of moong. In view of the bumper production of moong in the state, the Government of India has been requested to give approval for the purchase of additional moong. This will benefit the farmers.

App developed for Girdawari work

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that till now the work of Girdawari is being done manually. We have come a long way in terms of adopting the digital way of it. Many such provisions have been made, which will make it easier for the farmer in his day-to-day work. Model system will be implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan expressed his gratitude for the cooperation being given by the Union Agriculture Minister Shri Tomar.

Presentation of Madhya Pradesh

Agriculture Minister Shri Kamal Patel, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and senior officers were present in the meeting. Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Manish Rastogi told in the presentation that now farmers will also be able to observe the revenue Girdawari through the app. There is an electronic record of 260 lakh hectares of Girdawari in the state. Information about Girdawari completed in the past has been kept. 99 percent of the crops of the state are digitized. Efforts are being made continuously to connect the farmers with this scientific method. MP Kisan App will make farmers aware of new technology. Crop productivity can also be assessed by DIS technique.
