Meghalaya: Indian Navy Divers spot body of one of 15 miners trapped in rat-hole mine

In Meghalaya, Indian Navy Divers detected the body of a miner trapped in a rat-hole mine in East Jaintia Hills. In a tweet, the Indian Navy said the body was detected using Underwater ROV at a depth of approx 160 feet and 210 feet inside the mine.

15 miners were trapped on December 13 last year when water from Lytein River flooded a network of tunnels in the 370-foot-deep coal mine in Lumthari village of East Jaintia Hills. Rescue operations by the Indian Navy, NDRF and Odisha Fire Services officials continue to recover the other miners.
