Mumbai Pickle Power sign off from World Pickleball League 2026 after a tussling tie against Pune United

Mumbai: Mumbai Pickle Power endured a narrow 2-3 defeat against Pune United at the World Pickleball League (WPBL) 2026 encounter at the Jio World Garden tonight, but not before putting in a rather strong and competitive performance that set the tone for the tie.

Mumbai started on a positive note, with Jada Bui delivering a composed display in the women’s singles to overcome Katie Morris by 15-10, which gave her side an early advantage.

The momentum continued in the mixed doubles, where Brandon Lane and Glauka Carvajal Lane produced a dominant outing, cruising to a 16-1 win over Vanshik Kapadia and Sarah Jane Lim to place Mumbai firmly in control of the contest.

Despite Pune United mounting a comeback in the latter stages, Mumbai remained competitive across all fixtures, pushing the tie into the final match. The contest was eventually decided in the closing moments, with Pune edging ahead to clinch the tie 3-2.

While the result did not go their way, Mumbai Pickle Power demonstrated depth and discipline throughout the campaign, whereas Pune live to fight another day, staying afloat in the race for a top-four berth.
