Mumbai: Music Vruksh, an Indian Classical Music organization, hosted its annual event, Music Vruksh Baithak 2025 at Y.B. Chavan Rangaswar Auditorium, Mantralaya, Mumbai, to an audience of over 100 people including, music aficionados, professionals, children, mothers, and students. The event was hosted by Mallika Parker on behalf of Music Vruksh which was founded by Nithya Rajendran, an accomplished dual classical musician and presenter known for her insightful introductions and engaging stage presence.

The highlight of the evening was a personal composition by Ms. Nithya Rajendran, featuring a unique medley of two classical music forms – Hindustani and Carnatic – in Raag Shudh Kalyan and Raaga Mohana Kalyani, respectively. This innovative composition seamlessly wove together elements of both traditions, showcasing the artist’s prowess in both genres. The performance was accompanied by a talented team of six musicians, including three accompanists and three singers who are part of the Music Vruksh team (singers Ms. Srushti Kulkarni, Ms. Prajakta Shendre and Mr. Ganesh Jagdale). Accompanying on the mridangam was Shri. Suresh Sethumadhavan, on the tabla Shri. Chaitanya Kulkarni and on the harmonium Shri. Vinay Dalvi.

The event’s philosophy of inclusivity was reflected in the composition, which catered to both classical music connoisseurs and the layperson. By blending elements that appealed to a wide range of audiences, the medley remained authentic to classical music while being accessible to all.

The success of Music Vruksh Baithak 2025 underscores the organization’s commitment to promoting music in all its forms and fostering a deeper appreciation for classical music. With its innovative approach and dedication to musical accessibility, Music Vruksh continues to push the boundaries of aesthetic relevance and reach to the lay audiences.
