Nagaland Covid-19 tally at 5,544

Dimapur: Nagaland on Monday recorded 93 Covid-19 positive cases, taking the State’s tally to 5,544.

Of the 93 new cases, 77 are from Dimapur, 13 from Kohima, one each from Longleng, Phek and Tuensang.

In his briefing, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said out of the 5,544 positive cases, 4,451 people have recovered so far while the active cases are 1,052. There have been 10 deaths due to the virus. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,022 active cases are asymptomatic, 28 are mild and two are moderate.

Of the 5,544 positive cases, 2,614 cases are from armed forces/ police, 1,449 are returnees, 1,154 traced contacts and 327 frontline workers.

A total of 47,209 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 46,554 samples have been received. Besides, 26,587 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 26,565 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,304 samples have been tested, Sinha said.

Altogether 520 persons are presently under facility quarantine.
