Noida: In response to the recent Supreme Court ruling mandating that all street dogs be moved to shelters, Ramagya Foundation’s ‘Nishabd’ initiative is stepping up to ensure these voiceless lives are not only relocated but welcomed with love, care, and dignity. While the nation prepares for this historic shift, Nishabd has already opened its doors and hearts to make sure that street dogs finally receive the safety and compassion they have long been denied.
So far, the initiative has successfully conducted 1,50,000+ medical treatments, 2000+ vaccinations, 3500+ shelter treatments, and 60 awareness campaigns to champion the cause of animal welfare. These figures reflect Nishabd’s deep commitment to changing the lives of thousands of street dogs in need.
Ms. Ruchika Gupta, Founder, Nishabd, said, “Every street dog deserves a safe place to live and be loved. At Nishabd, we have not only endeavoured to just offer shelter to the street dogs, we aim to give them the life they have always deserved. Continuing with this commitment, Nishabd has always stood as a sanctuary for dogs in need and in this moment of great transition, it continues to be a place where life on the streets is replaced with safety, warmth and hope.”
Not only a physical shelter, Nishabd offers a warm and caring environment where every dog receives medical care, healthy food, clean water, vaccinations, sterilisations, emotional attention from a band of committed caregivers, and safety through CCTV monitoring. Nishabd exists for the very reason of providing every dog with a second chance at this beautiful world.
As a shelter, Nishabd even provides the unique concept of Virtual Adoption. This means that individuals can virtually adopt a dog, taking responsibility for its care without necessarily taking it home. The shelter ensures timely food, medical care, and all necessary facilities for the dog. In return, virtual adopters receive regular updates and can seek information about their chosen dog anytime. Transparency is maintained at every step, with clear records of how the support is being utilized. Virtual adopters are also welcome to visit the shelter and meet their adopted dog whenever they wish.
Nishabd has also introduced the unique concept of Virtual Adoption which offers the animal lovers a chance to care for a dog without bringing it home. Through this initiative, the individuals can take responsibility for a dog’s well-being while the shelter looks after its daily needs, including nutritious food, medical care and a safe environment. In return, virtual adopters receive regular updates with complete transparency on how their support is utilised and they can also seek information about their adopted dog anytime. They are also warmly welcomed to visit the shelter and spend time with their furry friend whenever they wish.
The organization strongly believes that shared compassion can transform a monumental problem into an inspiring possibility of change. By donating time, resources, or love—every individual has the power to play a role in the much-needed change for the street dogs of India.
