Oath taking ceremony of 12thN.C.Hills Autonomous Council held at Haflong

Haflong :  The oath taking ceremony of all the 28 newly Elected Members of the 12^thN.C.Hills Autonomous Council, Dima Hasao ,Haflong was held at 12 noon in the Cultural Institute Hall, Haflong on Monday.

The oath was administered by Sri Vikram Dev Sharma i/c Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao. Most of the newly elected member took oath in their own dialect like Dimasa, Jeme Naga, Hmar, Kuki and Hrangkhol. After the oath taking ceremony Sri Sharma announced the schedule for election of Chairman of the NCHAC. Accordingly the last date for filling of nomination is 12 noon of 5/2/2019 and if needed the election for the post of Chairman will be held on 6/2/2019.

Former Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa and his colleagues attended the function in their traditional dress making the event more colorful.

Gorlosa soon after the sworn in ceremony while talking to the media said the nomination for the Chairman would be done with the consultation of party leaders in a parliamentary meeting which is slated to be held today.

The Swear-in ceremony was attended by Principal Secretary, NCHAC, Principal Secretary (N), NCHAC, other officials, distinguished dignitaries, media persons and a large number of general public.
