Imphal: Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI is also training terrorist groups in Myanmar. His aim is to try to engage India in the other direction by promoting cross-border terrorism. A senior commandant of Assam Rifles in Imphal told the reporter that the ISI could be involved in imparting terrorist training to 40 Rashah by Jamaat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh. Based on the report of the Intelligence Agency of the Indian Army, the Commandant said that he wants to create regional instability by attacking terrorism in countries like Afghanistan and India. According to military officials, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, a Rohingya insurgent group operating in the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, has stepped up its activities.

At present, nine branches in the country are in Guwahati, Mumbai, Jammu, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kochi, Lucknow, Raipur and Chandigarh. Now, three more including Imphal have been cleared. The agency has expertise in investigating terrorist activities.
The Government is of the view that the new branches will help in effectively working on the anti-terror front in these states, timely information and prevention of incidents. The security official also said that the conspiracy of neighbouring countries has been disclosed, so India has launched an NIA campaign in Imphal to check terrorism activities along the Myanmar border. The central government is in the process of resuming free movement on the Indo-Myanmar border so that people living in border areas do not suffer. “Steps are also being taken to promote trade on the border,” he said.
This will also ensure that illegal smuggling and other illegal activities on the border are curbed.
