PM Modi Highlights Government’s Efforts to Strengthen Consumer Justice Through Digital Reforms

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today highlighted the government’s efforts to strengthen consumer justice through digital reforms. Sharing an article written by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Mr Modi said that following extensive consultations with stakeholders, e-Jagriti has been refined, making consumer justice one of the key sectors undergoing structural digital transformation.

In an article on the e-Jagriti platform, Mr. Joshi said, it is a transformative initiative aimed at modernising India’s consumer justice system by digitising the entire lifecycle of a consumer complaint. He said, the e -Jagriti platform makes the system faster, more transparent and more accessible by leveraging digital technologies, artificial intelligence and hybrid hearings, while bridging gaps that earlier discouraged consumers from seeking redressal. The Union Minister said, the citizen-centric design of the portal, continuous improvement based on stakeholder feedback and its nationwide implementation reflect the government’s commitment to responsive governance. He added that as India’s digital economy continues to expand, an efficient consumer dispute resolution mechanism will play a vital role in strengthening public trust, promoting responsible business practices and ensuring that every consumer can access justice with ease and confidence.
