PM Modi talks to Chief Ministers of North Eastern States on Covid-19

GUWAHATI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with hilly and north-eastern states, including Manipur, on Friday at a two-day crucial meeting of the Centre and states amid the corona crisis in India. Prime Minister Modi said that the Union Government will help in this corona situation in all the North Eastern States. The Prime Minister said that whenever india’s fight against corona is studied in future, this period will also be remembered because of how we worked together during this period, giving the best example of cooperative federalism.

The situation in the country is continuously deteriorating due to corona. New corona cases are now crossing four lakh. With such a large number of corona cases coming in, there is a lot of pressure on hospitals. There are many States where the situation over corona remains very alarming. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi on Friday discussed the status of Covid-19 with chief ministers of north-eastern states including Manipur, Tripura and Sikkim. He sought information from the Chief Minister about the status of corona infection in the state.

 He also asked about the more affected areas. The PM also took stock of the work being done to prevent and prevent corona infection from the Chief Ministers of north-eastern states. He also asked about the facilities being provided in the hospitals. Chief Ministers of North Eastern States also spoke about the spread of corona infection in hilly districts of the state. The Manipur Chief Minister said that the government is continuously increasing facilities and resources in hospitals. He said the State is continuously getting support from the Central Government. The Prime Minister assured all chief ministers that more support will be extended to the state government to prevent corona infection. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister.

The second wave of corona infection in India has become quite dangerous.The number of patients is increasing every day. According to the Union Health Ministry, 4,14,188 new corona infectioncases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours while 3,915 patients have died. 3 lakh 31 thousand 507 people have defeated Korono. On Thursday, 4,12,262 new cases of infection were registered and 3,980 people lost their lives due to the epidemic. With this, the total number of infection cases in the country has gone up to 2,10,77,410 and the death toll had reached 2,30,168. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry till 8 am on Thursday, the number of patients undergoing treatment in the country is 35,66,398 which is 16.92 per cent of the total cases of infection. The national rate of people recovering from Covid-19 fell to 81.99 per cent.
