President Droupadi Murmu to attend programme on empowerment of tribal society through spiritual awakening in Madhya Pradesh

President Droupadi Murmu has begun a five-day visit to Madhya Pradesh and Odisha today. On the first day of her visit, she arrived at Indore Airport, where she was welcomed by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.

From Indore, the President travelled to Betul to attend a programme titled “Empowerment of Tribal Communities through Spiritual Awakening,” organised by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya.

Addressing the gathering, President Murmu said that the conference, aimed at empowering tribal communities, is important not only for the region but for the entire country and society.

She appreciated the initiative taken by the Brahma Kumaris and said it will help tribal communities play an important role in the country’s development.

The President expressed confidence that the discussions at the conference would help prepare a meaningful roadmap for the future.

She said that several Indian thinkers, including Swami Vivekananda, had described India as a guide for humane and holistic development. She said that the lifestyle of tribal communities is naturally close to nature and spirituality.

According to the President, tribal societies respect the earth, water, air, the sun and other elements of nature and consider their protection an important part of life. She said that society can learn from tribal communities about environmental conservation and living in harmony with nature.

President Murmu said that to achieve the goal of a developed India, it is important that no section of society is left behind in the journey of development.

Quoting former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, she said that India is not merely a piece of land but a living nation, and the progress of every citizen and every community will form the foundation of a developed India.

President will arrive in Odisha tomorrow afternoon on a two-day visit to her home state. During her visit to Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, the President will attend a health camp organised by AIIMS Bhubaneswar and interact with beneficiaries and doctors.

She will also inaugurate a mega integrated rural piped water supply project benefiting 113 mining-affected villages under Kusumi Block, besides inaugurating the Matrushakti Bhawan of Brahma Kumaris at Hatbadra, a Special Circuit House and the newly created Rairangpur Police District, all in Rairangpur.

On Saturday, President Murmu will visit Pahadpur and offer prayers at Gosani Peeth, Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera. She will also visit a Skill Centre, interact with beneficiaries and review activities of educational institutions run by the SLS Trust.

Later in the day, the President will join Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a public function at Rairangpur, marking the completion of two years of the Odisha Government.

The President and the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects and address a large gathering.
