Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered a special Mahapuja at the Somnath Mahadev Temple, the first Jyotirlinga, on the occasion of Somnath Amrut Parv. He performed the Kumbhabhishek ritual on the spire of the Somnath Temple. For the first time in the temple’s history, Jalabhishek was performed on the temple spire using holy water from 11 pilgrimage sites. PM Modi also participated in the flag-hoisting ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force conducted an air show in which the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team displayed breathtaking aerial stunts in the skies above Somnath. Flower petals were also showered over the temple from helicopters. After that, PM Modi visited a special exhibition.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi held a roadshow up to Hamirji Gohil Circle. He also paid floral tribute to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Somnath Amrut Parv is being celebrated to mark 75 years of the inauguration of the reconstructed Somnath Temple.
