Priyadarshani Group of Schools celebrates Dronacharya Day 2026, honours teachers through tribute, heritage and recognition

Maharashtra: Priyadarshani Group of Schools celebrated Dronacharya Day 2026, its annual Teachers’ Day celebration, at Town Hall, Chikhali, bringing together educators and members of its school community for a day centered on gratitude, remembrance, and recognition. The celebration combined personal reflections, alumni messages, cultural showcases, and annual honors to acknowledge the dedication of teachers shaping students’ lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jitendraa Siingh, Managing Trustee, Priyadarshani Group of Schools, said, “Teachers are at the heart of every educational institution. Their influence goes far beyond academics—they inspire, guide, and shape the values and confidence that students carry with them through life. Dronacharya Day gives us an opportunity to recognize this contribution, celebrate the journeys of our educators, and express our gratitude for the dedication they bring to our schools every day.”

A key highlight of the celebration was the launch of ‘Anubhav’, a special collection of real-life stories, experiences, and memories shared by educators across campuses, offering a heartfelt appreciation of their professional journeys. The bond between mentors and students was further reflected through alumni video messages, where former students expressed deep gratitude to teachers who guided their paths.

The programme also paid homage to Founder, Late Sri. Indraman Singh, whose vision for accessible, value-driven education and youth empowerment remains central to Priyadarshani’s institutional ethos. Additionally, the gathering observed two minutes of silence in memory of beloved educator, Late Ms. Avita Silveira.

The event acknowledged institutional leadership by felicitating Trustees and Principals, alongside presenting the Helping Hand Award. Taking the stage under the theme “Folk Heritage of India,” educators showcased diverse regional traditions, earning recognition through the Acharya Nritya Puraskar.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards across categories including Leadership Excellence, Teacher of the Year, Innovative Educator, and Administrative Achievement, highlighted by the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Anita Nair for her longstanding service. The event drew to a close with the Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem.
