Bengaluru : Project Grain has been open for only a few weeks, and it is already doing things its own way. In partnership with Swiggy Scenes, the bar is hosting The House Pour – a curated evening designed to introduce Bengaluru’s cocktail community to the space, the drinks programme, and the atmosphere it has been quietly building since it opened. The first from Cut Scenes, Swiggy Scenes’ IP built around curated experiences that offer a reset from your routine, The House Pour is across two limited sessions at 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM, just 15 guests per slot will be welcomed in for an evening of cocktails, Japanese-inspired food, and live music. Tickets are priced at INR 1,499 per guest and are available on Swiggy Scenes and will be redeemable against any food and drinks at the venue.
The cocktail programme at Project Grain is built around time and technique. Grain’s Reserve Highballs lead with spirit-forward serves: a Japanese highball anchored by Yamazaki Reserve, and a Mexican build of 1800 Anejo and Fandango Mezcal, both served long and cold with chilled seltzer. The signature list moves from Smokey Lovers, a blend of Korean soju and mezcal with hibiscus and berries, to Yurei, a Highland Reposado Tequila cocktail finished with elderflower, grapefruit, and milk whey. A section of classic footnotes, including a Sazerac, a Bamboo, and an Irish Coffee made with miso butter-washed whiskey, rounds out a menu that is confident in its references and willing to play with them. Alongside the drinks, guests will move through a food programme spanning Japanese-inflected bar bites, a raw bar of gunkan and handy rolls, tempura and katsu preparations, wood-fired yakitori, and desserts including a Kakigore and a Matcha Cream Pie Sando on fried milk bread.
The evening will feature a live music programme chosen to complement the pace and character of the room, immersive and atmospheric rather than conventional. With seating limited across each session, the format reflects what Project Grain is at its core: a bar that rewards slowing down. Built around aged spirits, improvised classics, and precise highballs, the space is warm, considered, and designed to feel like somewhere you have always known. This launch event is the first formal moment the bar shares with the city, and it intends to make it count.
