New Delhi: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken suo motu cognizance and has stopped the demolition drive in Nuh District in Haryana in relation to the communal clashes in the city.
The violence broke out after a mob had attached a VHP procession after the information had spread around that Monu Manesar, a cow vigilante would be a part of the procession.
It has been reported by media portals that atleast 70 people were injured and 5 people have been killed in the clash, which also included policemen. 40 cases have been registered and 80 people have been arrested in the communal violence.
A demolition drive was conducted by the district administration which demolished houses, shops and illegal constructions.
