‘Services to Mother Earth is service in our life’

GUWAHATI : The virtual youth club namely PRAYAS- A Vision for Change formed during the pandemic COVID19 had come up with an initiative of Plantation and Cleanliness drive by collaborating with 33rd Battalion ITBP and Games Village Residence Welfare Society.

The virtual Youth Club namely PRAYAS- A Vision for Change was formed by students from different colleges and universities across the nation like- kaziranga university, Visva-Bharati university, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Delhi School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Kasturba Medical College, NEF Law College, SNDT Women’s University, Amity University, Dibrugarh University, Tezpur University, Srimanta Sankardev Viswa Vidyalay, etc. to promote youth engagement and process of development in the society.

To recognize the NSS day on 24 th Sep ,2020 two students namely – Kakoli Saharia and Naodam Nilabha Singh from Guwahati have come forward to organise both the activities initiated under the esteemed youth club .The program was inaugurated by Sh.K.C Kumar Dy.Sec ( Rtd ) from Govt. Of India who is also the current chairperson of Green Circle, India. In his inaugural speech Sh. Kumar appreciated the participation of upcoming generation in such activities. He also said that as we take care of our own mother in the same way we should serve our Mother Earth which is the best service in our life.

He also mentioned that the participation of the upcoming generation in such activities is really appreciable and very encouraging as the upcoming generation being responsible today is really a good sign as they are the future of our country. In her welcome speech, Kakoli Saharia, Member of Prayas, said that if we take such initiatives today then definitely the next generation will not be deprived of the beauty of nature which we are enjoying today. She also mentioned that many a little makes a mickle so needs very necessary to take the first step. Today more than 50 persons have participated in the programme.
