India : SIGMA is expanding its APS-C mirrorless lineup with the announcement of the Sigma 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary, scheduled to hit shelves on October 22nd, 2026, and the arrival of the Sigma 16-300mm F3.5-6.7 DC OS | Contemporary in Nikon Z mount, scheduled for November 5th, 2026. The new additions – the palm-sized telephoto zoom and the all-in-one super-zoom – give users greater reach and creative range by pairing high-speed linear autofocus and effective image stabilization with compact, portable designs.
These launches build on SIGMA’s September full-frame additions, the Sigma 85mm F1.2 DG | Art and Sigma 20-60mm F2.8-4 DG | Contemporary, which went on sale across India on September 30th, 2026. With full-frame and APS-C both covered, SIGMA’s mirrorless lineup now runs from a flagship F1.2 portrait lens to an all-in-one super-zoom, giving creators a SIGMA option at every focal length and format.
Sigma 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary
The Sigma 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary is a large-aperture telephoto zoom for APS-C cameras, covering approximately 75mm to 180mm in 35mm equivalent terms. It combines a constant F2.8 aperture, sharp optics and close-up capability in a palm-sized body, drawing the greatest possible mobility out of an APS-C system.
● Mount Compatibility: Sony E-mount, FUJIFILM X Mount, Canon RF Mount
Key Features:
● Compact, Lightweight Design: Measures just 99mm in length and weighs 390g (Sony E-mount), making an F2.8 telephoto zoom easy to carry through a full day of shooting.
● Completes SIGMA’s F2.8 Zoom Trio: Joins the existing Sigma 10-18mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary and Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary to cover ultra-wide to telephoto, with all three lenses weighing less than 1kg together.
● Refined Optical Construction: Incorporates one FLD glass element, three SLD glass elements and four aspherical elements to correct aberrations from the center of the frame to the edges, delivering high contrast across the zoom range.
● Telephoto Rendering: The generous bokeh and compression of an approximately 180mm equivalent lens suit portraits with strong subject separation as well as flat product photography.
● Designed for Stills and Video: Powered by a High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) for fast, quiet AF, with minimized focus breathing for natural video composition. The OS2 stabilization algorithm delivers 6.5 stops at the wide end and 4.5 stops at the telephoto end (CIPA guidelines, measured at 50mm and 120mm on an APS-C mirrorless camera).
● Simple Controls and Weather Resistance: The focus mode and OS switches have been removed for a clean, intuitive layout. A dust- and splash-resistant structure and a water- and oil-repellent front coating support shooting in demanding outdoor conditions.
Sigma 16-300mm F3.5-6.7 DC OS | Contemporary (Nikon Z mount)
The Sigma 16-300mm F3.5-6.7 DC OS | Contemporary is an all-in-one zoom for APS-C mirrorless cameras with an approximately 18.8x zoom ratio, the world’s first for an AF interchangeable lens for mirrorless cameras of its kind (as of September 2026, by SIGMA). With its arrival in Nikon Z mount, Nikon users can cover everything from wide landscapes to distant wildlife with a single lens.
● Mount Compatibility: Nikon Z mount
Key Features:
● Wide-Angle to Super-Telephoto in One Lens: Covers landscapes, portraits, wildlife and sports, with a maximum magnification of 1:2 for detailed close-ups.
● Fast, Accurate Autofocus: The HLA motor delivers smooth, quiet AF suited to fast-moving subjects such as birds and aircraft.
● Effective Image Stabilization: Offers 6 stops of stabilization at the wide end and 4.5 stops at the telephoto end (CIPA guidelines, measured at 16mm and 300mm on an APS-C camera) for sharp results at long focal lengths and in low light.
● Optimized for Nikon Z: AF drive and communication speed have been tuned specifically for Nikon Z mount cameras. Supports AF-C (Continuous AF) and in-camera aberration correction (on supported cameras), and the rubber-sealed mount suits use in a variety of environments.
The full-frame side of SIGMA’s expanded lineup is already on shelves in L-Mount and Sony E-mount.
● Sigma 85mm F1.2 DG | Art: The flagship medium-telephoto portrait lens, with a 13-blade diaphragm for round bokeh and dual HLA autofocus. At 905g (L-Mount), it is the smallest and lightest AF 85mm F1.2 for full-frame mirrorless cameras, and it completes SIGMA’s F1.2 trio alongside the 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art and 50mm F1.2 DG DN | Art.
● Sigma 20-60mm F2.8-4 DG | Contemporary: A versatile standard zoom at 385g, with a bright F2.8 aperture at 20mm, close focusing down to 15.8cm at 28mm, and a weather-sealed build.
From the F1.2 portrait flagship to a palm-sized telephoto and an all-in-one super-zoom, SIGMA’s latest lenses reaffirm its commitment to uncompromising optical quality and practical portability. The Sigma 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary will be available across India from October 22nd, 2026, and the Sigma 16-300mm F3.5-6.7 DC OS | Contemporary for Nikon Z mount from November 5th, 2026.
