Mumbai – This monsoon, Soraia invites guests to step beyond the city and into The Secret Garden, a new immersive Sunday lunch experience set amidst the restaurant’s lush gardens at Mahalaxmi Racecourse.
Designed as an evolving culinary journey, The Secret Garden transforms each month into a different destination, celebrating regional cuisines, culture, music and storytelling through specially curated menus, signature beverages and immersive experiences.
“Our vision was to create something more immersive than a brunch. The Secret Garden is about discovery, travel and storytelling through food. Every few weeks, the garden transforms into a different part of the world, giving guests a reason to return again and again,” says Afsana Verma, Partner, Inner Circle Hospitality.
The inaugural chapter, Letters from Kashmir, brings the flavours and culinary traditions of the valley to Mumbai through a thoughtfully curated Kashmiri-inspired feast. Guests can savour regional favourites including crisp milk-braised Tabak Maaz, saffron and cardamom-scented Kashmiri Seekh Kebabs, Nadru Monje with walnut chutney, Nadru Kofta Yakhni, Chicken Yakhni, slow-cooked Ghosht Taba, traditional Dum Aloo Kashmiri, and Gucchi Pulao with prized Kashmiri morels. The meal concludes with a comforting Saffron Phirni served in a traditional clay pot.
Complementing the menu is a bespoke cocktail collection inspired by Kashmir’s saffron fields, walnut orchards, apple harvests and Kahwa traditions. Highlights include Dal Lake at Dawn, a refreshing blend of Kahwa cordial, green apple and saffron soda; Pampore Gold, inspired by Kashmir’s famed saffron fields; The Walnut Orchard, a refined martini-style serve; Chinar Leaves, layered with walnut and apple notes; and Gulmarg Fireside, a warming blend of Kahwa, roasted almond and smoky tea.
Complementing the culinary experience are traditional Kahwa rituals, live Santoo music performances, and thoughtful cultural touches that transport guests to the heart of Kashmir, all set against the backdrop of Soraia’s lush botanical gardens.
Far removed from the conventional brunch format, The Secret Garden is designed as a leisurely Sunday escape where long lunches, immersive experiences and meaningful conversations take centre stage.
Future editions will transport guests to destinations including Sicily, Lucknow, Kyoto and beyond, with each chapter unveiling a new culinary narrative through food, beverages and culture.
The Secret Garden: Letters from Kashmir will take place every Sunday afternoon at Soraia, Mahalaxmi Racecourse. Reservations are limited.
