Special programmes of Tourism department on World Tourism Day: Principal Secretary Shri Shukla

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, special programmes will be organized by the Department of Tourism for tourists on 26 and 27 September, 2021. Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director Tourism Board Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla informed that on September 26 (Sunday) a rock art trail would be organized in the buffer zone of Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary and on September 27th  at Boat Club, Bhopal for Yoga and Zumba session. Simultaneously a special expert session is being organized at Minto Hall. The expert session will be inaugurated by Minister of Tourism, Culture and Spirituality, Sushri Usha Thakur. Along with this, all the units of Tourism Development Corporation will be illuminated on both September 26 and 27.

Shri Shukla informed that discussion will be held on opportunities, prospects, concept of development and turning future challenges into opportunities in the special session to be organized at Minto Hall,. Special guest in the expert session will be Sushri Junhi Han from Chief UNESCO Culture, New Delhi. Members of travel trade associations, hotel associations, arts and crafts experts, agri-tourism, home stay experts from across the country have been invited to attend the session and give their valuable suggestions and inputs.

Managing Director Tourism State Development Corporation Shri S. Vishwanathan told that MPSTDC is ever ready to welcome tourists. All necessary arrangements have been made to organize Yoga and Zumba sessions at the Boat Club and Wind & Waves Restaurant. Along with this, attractive 25 percent discount will be applicable on food and accommodation for guests at all units of Tourism Development Corporation in the state on the occasion of World Tourism Day, on September 27, 2021.

It may be noted that World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27 all over the world. This year UNWTO has designated World Tourism Day 2021 to focus on the theme of ‘Tourism for Inclusive Development’. On this occasion, the Government of India has taken an initiative under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ which will acquaint the general public with the glorious history of 75 years of progressive India and its culture and achievements. The Tourism Board is organizing various programmes and activities in the state to promote tourism in the state and to make the public aware of the state’s rich history, traditions, cultural and national heritage, prospects and tourism importance etc. and to increase their tourism related knowledge.
