MANGALDAI :: Chandra Mohan Patowary, the guardian minister of Darrang as well as the minister for Environment and Forest , Assam is hopeful that the outcome of ‘Swasthya Sewa Utsav’ would bring a revolutionary positive change in the quality public health care services of the region. He was addressing the officials and staff taking part in this three day health festival which ended on April 8 last. In this connection a valedictory function was organized here at the circuit for the external evaluators and assessors. Participating the function Mangaldai Loksabha MP Dilip Saikia hailed the well-crafted efforts of the district health and National Health Mission ( NHM) , Darrang under the able supervision of deputy commissioner in successful transformation of the unique vision of chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma into reality despite their official holidays.
On behalf of the district health society all the 28 external assessors which included medical professionals from Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) and officials from the district administration were greeted each with a ‘gamosa’ and ‘japi’ . The ceremony anchored by Nayana Parasar , district programme manager ( DPM),Darrang also attended by deputy commissioner Munindra Nath, former MLA Gurujyoti Das, joint director of health services Dr Nirmal Kumar Beria and others. At the end of the function a group photo of all the participants was taken as a pleasant memory. Meanwhile talking to this correspondent NHM official Nayana Parasar informed that during this fest altogether 42 health institutions were assessed on different parameters by external evaluators and assessors which included Gautam Talukdar, secretary in the state power department, Tej Prasad Bhusal , additional secretary in the agriculture department and Prasanta Saikia, superintendent of police, Darrang among others.
