India : The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), in collaboration with its strategic partner, The Job Plus, continues to strengthen industry-aligned skill development and employment opportunities for the youth of Manipur through various CSR-supported and industry-driven hospitality training initiatives.
As part of this commitment, Mr. Rajan Bahadur, Chief Executive Officer, THSC, along with Mr. Vivek Shandilya, Senior Vice President, THSC, visited hospitality skill training centres in Manipur, including SAS Skills, Classic Hospitality Training Institute, and JCRE Skills, to review ongoing training activities, interact with students, trainers, and institute management, and explore opportunities to further strengthen the region’s hospitality skill development ecosystem.
Commenting on the initiatives, Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC, stated:
“The youth of Manipur have immense potential to excel in the hospitality industry. Our focus is on bridging the gap between skilling and employment through quality, industry-aligned training. By strengthening industry partnerships, we aim to empower young talent with the right skills and create meaningful career opportunities in India and across global markets.”
These training centres are implementing various hospitality skill development initiatives in collaboration with THSC and its strategic partner, The Job Plus, including CSR-supported training programs backed by The Oberoi Hotels, Accor Hotels, and Chalet Hotels, industry-paid RTD models, and the Table Space RTD program. These initiatives aim to equip young aspirants with industry-relevant competencies, practical exposure, and employment-oriented skills aligned with the evolving requirements of the hospitality sector.
During the visits, the THSC leadership interacted with students, trainers, and management teams of various training centres, emphasizing the importance of industry-relevant skills, communication, professional discipline, and workplace readiness. Discussions focused on enhancing training quality, strengthening institutional and industry collaborations, and aligning CSR-supported and industry-linked training initiatives with evolving hospitality sector requirements to bridge the skill-employment gap and create sustainable domestic and international career opportunities for youth.
The visit reaffirmed THSC’s commitment to strengthening the hospitality skill development ecosystem in the Northeast through strategic industry partnerships, quality training delivery, CSR-supported programs, and employment-focused initiatives. Such collaborative efforts are expected to contribute significantly to youth empowerment, regional workforce development, and the growing demand for skilled professionals in the domestic and international hospitality industry.
