University of Southampton Delhi expands successful scholarships programme

University of Southampton Delhi is expanding its successful scholarships programme, designed to recognise academic excellence, promote diversity and support high potential students in accessing international quality education in India. It is expected that one in three students will be able to benefit from these competitive, merit and needs based scholarships and bursaries.

The University will offer two Delhi Presidential Competitive Scholarships, one each for undergraduate and postgraduate students, covering 100% tuition fees for the full duration of the programme (three years for undergraduate and one year for postgraduate study). These highly competitive scholarships will be awarded to students demonstrating exceptional academic performance and strong alignment with the University’s values.

In addition, up to 30 Future Talent Scholarships will be awarded across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, providing tuition fee support for the entire course duration. This marks an expansion from the previous year, with undergraduate support now extended to all three years.

The University will also offer up to 15 Merit Scholar Awards for undergraduate students across disciplines such as Economics, Accounting and Finance, Computer Science, Creative Computing, and Software Engineering. These awards will support tuition fees across all three years and will be granted to students who exceed the academic entry criteria.

Further, up to two Cambridge Scholarship Awards will be available for Cambridge International A-Level graduates, offering financial support towards first-year tuition fees.

Continuing from the first year this year’s L.E.K. Consulting – University of Southampton Delhi corporate partnership will have a provision of up to 12 postgraduate merit scholarships against fees at University of Southampton Delhi for MSc programmes in Finance, Data Science and Economics. These scholarships will be focused towards early career professionals.

The University has introduced Changemaker Scholarships for undergraduate students, offering up to four competitive awards across Economics, Accounting and Finance, Business Management, and Creative Computing. Each scholarship will cover 50% of tuition fees for the full duration of the programme, supporting talented students who demonstrate strong academic potential and leadership qualities.

In addition, up to four Science Impact Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students enrolling in the BEng (Hons) Software Engineering and BSc (Hons) Computer Science programmes. These scholarships are designed to recognise and encourage academic excellence in computing and technology-related disciplines.

In addition, the Future Talent Bursary provides eligible undergraduate students with tuition fee support of up to 50%, recognising both academic merit and financial need.

Professor Eloise Phillips, Academic Provost, University of Southampton Delhi, said: “At University of Southampton Delhi, we are continually inspired by the drive and ambition of young India. We see immense potential in this new generation and are committed to nurturing it. We are focused on creating an environment that encourages independent thinking, global exposure, and real-world relevance. Through these scholarships, we hope to enable students to not just participate in the future, but actively shape it.”

All scholarships are offered in the form of tuition fee waivers. Students are required to secure admission into a programme before applying for a scholarship, following which they are assessed through a structured evaluation process. A single application enables students to be considered across multiple scholarship categories. The initiative reflects the university’s focus on building a globally relevant academic ecosystem in India, combining international standards with accessibility and student support.
